High quality or not?

High quality or not?

Hello, hello!

We all see the advertising messages praising the high quality of shoes or slippers.

« Easy to say, you think, how can I know what the real quality is of a slipper? »

Let me help you on this one.

Several factors determine whether we can talk about high-quality or not:

  • The creation process
  • The fabrication method
  • The used materials

Let’s dive into each topic a little deeper and see what quality means for Line Loup.

The creation process

Every model of indoor shoes for men, women and children you will find on the site, is designed by myself (yes, on paper and with a crayon, no computer!) and is accompanied by a technical sheet that explains the sizes, materials, colors etc we want for this model. Every model is unique.

Every design goes to the Italian manufacturer and we fine-tune the design together. Based on this, a prototype is made by different artisans with their speciality.

A prototype gives you the opportunity to see not only your design come to life but especially the details of the product, test it, take out any points that create discomfort or make the product less beautiful. You perfect the final model. And several rounds of prototypes can be made. All depend on the complexity of the slipper.

This process takes a lot of time and energy but is essential to the quality and comfort of the final product.

Quality = original, unique and creative collection, limited in size – you cannot find any lookalikes.

The fabrication process

Once we validated the prototype, the fabrication can start. NOT by machines but the indoor shoes are made BY HAND, going through different pair of hands of artisans: person that creates the sewing pattern, embroiderer etc.

Therefore, there are no thousands of slippers produced each day, but maximum of 120 pairs.

Every pair of slippers that comes out of the manufacture is checked by the boss himself to ensure quality before it gets shipped to our offices.

Quality = Made by hand by artisans in Italy

The used materials

Essential to any product is the materials that are used during the fabrication process.

Italy is known and famous for its high-quality leatherwear. The artisans know how the get the softest, smoothest and finest leather. Other countries offer leatherwear that are harder, dryer and therefore give less comfort at the end.

This has a direct influence on the comfort and the resilience of the loafers and mules.

Quality = Leatherwear produced in Italy

This is what Line Loup is about, its our DNA.
We care a lot about the quality of our slippers, as at the end of the day, you (and we) just want put on your slippers and feel like walking on air….

Take care & talk soon
